Najjat Markaz

Najjat Markaz offers a complete solution to help people get freedom from drugs addiction. The treatment philosophy recognizes there are three dimensions of drugs problem: physical, psychological and social. Accordingly, the treatment process in this center comprises three stages. It begins with detoxification of the patient’s physical body system. Allopathic medicine is employed for this purpose. The treatment is planned by qualified Psychiatrists. Once the physical system is completely cleansed, the treatment enters the next phase which is psycho rehabilitation. In this phase, patients are given psychological treatment to develop and strengthen their will to minimize the chances of relapse. Finally, the patients are counseled in a formal and well thought out way. Group meetings are held and counseling is provided to help the now healthy outgoing people to integrate in the society like responsible and useful citizens. This is the last phase of the treatment. The treatment in these three stages is made possible with the help of qualified and experienced medical staff, psychiatrists, psychologists and counselors. Minimum duration of the treatment is 30 days.

It is deemed extremely important that the system is designed, operated and reviewed such that any likelihood of access to drugs is completely eliminated. Therefore, the center is operated in a strict discipline. Numerous checks are in place to ensure that inmates are duly cared for without compromising their progress towards freedom from drugs. In this respect, inmates as well as staff are under acute surveillance. In order to nurture an attitude of self-discipline, training to the staff and guidance to the inmates are provided on regular basis.

Najjat Markaz is a treatment facility of 90 beds capacity, fully furnished to provide healthy living conditions. It has its own kitchen facility. Food is prepared, cooked and served within the premises. This in-house facility not only ensures high quality healthy food but also helps maintain the discipline in what the inmates consume and when they do it. All prescribed medicines are not only made available but also administered inside the center. The doctor visits regularly to monitor the individual progress of the inmates. Most of the times, the treatment Center has an ambulance standing by.  Appropriate arrangements are made for religious practices according to the religious beliefs of the inmates. For example, five daily prayers are held for the Muslim inmates.
